Call drop

Calls drop too often

Inventory Control

The app would be worlds better if it stayed alive instead of closing automatically after not being used for a while. The whole point of the app is to be able to still connect to the Cisco network while being on the go. Android doesn’t have this issue, just IOS. The app is basically useless if it’s going to be “log out” after I lock my phone.

Terrible

Bad app, rings and won’t let you answer. Shows missed calls even though it never rang. Decent when it functions properly but that is rare

iOS 17+.

Jabber will not work on the iPhone 17.

Does not stay connected unless the app is open

Not sure what wrong with the latest version but Jabber will not stay connected in the background - so calls do not come through unless you keep the app open. This really needs to be resolved.

Garbage app

1. Cisco refuses to fix a problem that has been ongoing for several years — Jabber will not ring unless the app is active (ok), but it must be the focus and the phone can not be in sleep mode. 2. It has just come to my attention that my work voicemail (Jabber) is picking up calls to my PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER. Do not blame the call forwarding setting on my cell phone — it is off and has ALWAYS been off! I HATE this garbage app and the fact that Cisco refuses to fix problems!

Worthless

This app is completely worthless. Calls don’t come through unless the app is open and you are checking it every 15 minutes to make sure you are logged on.

Cisco Only App

This app doesn’t work for me due to it wanting to connect to Cisco systems. I have my own XMPP host thank you. The first privacy invading thing it did was send my login credentials to them! 🤯🤬

Doesn’t support the newest IPhone update

Very frustrating that the app doesn’t support the newest iPhone update. Great app if you are running older IOS versions.

Worst app a company has ever forced me to use

Good god. This app just doesn’t work. I’ve tried relentlessly for a day now to login and it just won’t work. Even when I “connected” to IM it doesn’t show any of my chats and it keeps disconnecting anyway. What a nightmare, thankfully we’re moving to teams soon.

Doesn’t work with iPhone

This was working okay for a while but maybe there was an update to iPhone or the app… I no longer can receive calls using this app on my phone. I work hybrid and rely on the app (per my company’s mandate) to forward my office line to my cell without having 100’s of people see my personal information. Before now, people would see my personal information when I call them, which was awful. But now I can’t even receive their calls at all. It goes straight to an email of the voicemail file that I have to play without any scrubbing or ffw/rev functions. Of course there is literally no way to trouble shoot this without being a coder and my company simply blames it on those of us using iPhones. Support groups say the same. I wish Cisco would get with the program and make any attempt to fix any part of these concerns.

Buggy. Doesn’t work as stated on Apple Watch

I see tons of cool things you can supposedly do with this app and Apple Watch. Too bad none of them work. Spent days on the phone with Cisco to get MRA and Jabber working, but no one to even talk to about this. Doesn’t even show whose calling, just the icon while my phone rings.

Needs a major update

It’s clunky and unable to connect to services. Needs a major update, please.

Other Party Often Does Not Hear Me On A Call

As of June 8, 2023 I am using iOS 16.5 on my iPhone 13 Pro. With Jabber version 14.1.5 installed. My use of the Jabber app for my employer is for making and receiving phone calls on my cell phone so that the caller has my employer’s credentials instead of mine. For quite a while now if I make or receive multiple calls the person on the other end of the phone cannot hear me. I can always hear them. I use my AirPod Pro, 1st generation, with a current firmware with the phone. I try to keep my phone and the Jabber app up to date and keep hoping that the next version of iOS or Jabber will fix the issue. I would have reported this earlier but I did not want to leave a poor review and when I went through the Settings, Problem Reporting and clicked on “Send via email” their was not an email address to send the ISS to. I did not know that the app is supposed to have this feature option until today. I am willing to do what I can on my end to assist in resolving the issue, however, I will leave the 2 star review stand until either the issue has been resolved or my employer no longer uses Cisco Jabber. If the latter happens before the resolution happens then I will have no way of knowing if the issue has been resolved, so the review will stay. I have unpaired my AirPod Pros and repaired them multiple times, I have logged out of the app also multiple times, deleted the app and reinstalled it, you guessed it multiple times and the issue still remains. The only method that I have reliably been able to implement that seems to allow for me as well as the person on the other end of a phone call to be able to consistently be able to hear me is after every call I shut my phone down and then restart the phone. I also have tried closing the app and restarting it and I have still experienced the same issue. I don’t need a response from Cisco on this, rather for the issue to be resolved. Thank you.

Does not sync with phone

The chats do not sync between phone & computer. Seems like a pretty natural function in todays world.

No notifications when outside of the app

I like this app and find it convenient, but for some reason it goes offline when I close out of it or lock my phone, only for a few minutes. I do not get notifications even though they are turned on.

تقييم

رائع جدًا.

Been broken for months update still broke

The app doesn’t ring through properly unless it is on in the foreground and the screen unlocked. This has been an issue for months and Cisco has not fixed it. There have been several updates but the issue remains and there is no way to contact customer support for the app only for desktop applications. 4/7/23 still doesn’t work right.

I’ve never hated an app more

I had to get the mobile app because the Laptop ap also doesn’t work. It is terrible and hard to work with. My main job is on the phone and this app does not allow me to do it but my job makes me use it. I do not recommend. Do not switch your company to Jabber.

Only works on demand

New phone, fresh OS, and this app will not stay connected. I have reinstalled and checked every setting and this app doesn’t stay connected in the background, so it doesn’t receive calls unless open and awake.

Disappointed.

It works for the most part. Just disappointed that I can’t use the groups I use on the desktop client.

Can only send messages

I need to be able to receive messages sent from our admitting staff from their computer. As a nurse I can’t sit at a computer waiting on a message from the front desk, I have to keep moving, so I thought that this app would be a good solution for our admitting staff to let me know when I have a patient here, but it turns out that I can only send messages, I can’t receive any. So it’s useless for me. I’ve messed with the settings but there doesn’t seem to be any for sending and receiving messages.

Not a stable app

The app is not stable. If you leave the app for any reason calls do not come through. I’m baffled as to why the last bug fix was over 2 months ago with all of the issues still present. Cisco needs to address this asap

Horrible

Will not stay connected on iPhone.

I keep getting logged out on my phone. Missing calls, fiddling around with it

I need this app to stay logged in. It rings but won’t connect. I call and it says no connection. I retype my password and five minutes of foolishness later I can receive and send calls. Unacceptable.

Status fails to update across platforms

I think you could gather all of ciscos coders into a giant room and they still wouldn’t be able to get the status to match across devices.

Unable to silence ringtone

When wearing headphones in the office, this app will ring through the headphones and cause moderate to severe hearing loss. According to the web forums by Cisco, this app used to have the option to vibrate instead of ring. Programmers at Cisco decided to get rid of this feature, I can assume this is to prevent people from working from home. I cannot in good conscience recommend this app to anyone for fear of causing hearing damage when wearing headphones. I only hope that someone at the company will read this, but I will not hold out hope and will delete the app.

iPhone won’t stay connected

I have to leave the screen on all the time for months FIX IT

iPhone 14 Bluetooth Issue

While I have enjoyed this app for the last couple years. After upgrading to an iPhone 14, I am no longer able to use a Bluetooth headset with it due to very poor audio quality. I am surprised this issue has not been addressed yet.

So much promise, but the app does not deliver

The promise of Jabber is great — having my work phone and messaging always available — but the app is completely unreliable to the point that I never use it and when I do, I regret it. EDIT: Seems like one of the problems is that it does not work well with AirPods, but the release notes indicate that it should be fine.

Doesn’t work with iPhone 14 pro and AirPods

For some reason this app does not work when using the combo mentioned above. Wrote on reddits pages 28 days ago. Still no update. I’m not the only one with this issue. No sure how else to contact customer service so I’m writing this review

All They Had to Do was Leave it Alone

When the work from home first started, this was a great app. Able to stay connected and allow us to contact our coworkers without giving away personal phone numbers as much as we needed as long as we were okay with it. One stability update later and since then, connection to the server would drop, notifications would be missing. Completely unusable.

Cisco doesn’t care about this app or you.

I have had a TAC case open with Cisco since they broke the app in May. They don’t care to fix it. Every few weeks they will gather the same logs that we have already gathered 10 times before. They claim they are working to resolve it, but they just don’t care. I assume they are dragging this out to force everyone to pay more for their WebEx solution. My advice is don’t use it. Tell your management that Cisco knows it is broken but doesn’t care to fix it.

Bluetooth garbled

I saw another review that said this app works well, 90% of the time. I can’t agree more. Following the iOS 16 update I can no longer use my AirPods Pro (1st) gen to make calls - the call is garbled on both ends. I’ve tried re-pairing my headphones without success. I have yet to try with other Bluetooth devices, but I have no issues with the AirPods Pro outside of jabber. Features I hope for in the future: 1. Message sync across devices. 2. Call handoff between Wi-Fi/cellular. Currently calls drop when switching networks.

Does not support AirPods

If AirPods are active when a call comes in and is answered, the icon indicating which audio connection flips between that and phone until you realize it. The sound matches and is unusable

The worst app i user ever

This app i worst It need to reset every time to get connected with server It will not ring/ notify/accept calls while the app closed

Is app even functional?

I have the desktop app and mobile. Call will have ended on desktop and App starts ringing?!?

Broken

New IOS and this app has choppy audio with Bluetooth devices. FIX THIS!!

Odd behavior

The app works well for the most part. Recently with IOS16, the Bluetooth connection is choppy to the point where it’s not usable. I tried different headphones and different brands but no luck. Resetting the settings and re-downloading doesn’t change the behavior when using a Bluetooth headset. Kind of annoying but still technically works, hopefully they can fix this cause it wasn’t an issue before.

Constant connectivity problems

I use this app for work communication, but the app drops connectivity constantly, without notification. Because of this you never know when you are or aren’t connected unless you open the app and check, and even then it could disconnect a minute later. This has been a problem for years! What is the point of a communication app that doesn’t stay connected?

Good app, when it works

Good app, when it works. You may need to login again every once in a while even if you use it everyday. For my situation, the app needs to be open and signed in order to receive phone calls. There is a slight lag when you answer calls or place calls, it can be up to one second when you are able to hear the other person on the line resulting in saying “hello” twice.

Doesn’t stay connected and can’t hear caller

Constantly dropping signal “can’t connect to server” and some days it won’t let me hear the caller speak. I’ve tried to sign out/ in, reset the app, delete the app, uninstall / reinstall turn off my iOS and nothing seems to works. Until it works back again by itself super frustrating trying to run a business this way! Please fix the app!

Insurance Claims Specialist

Rarely am I able to receive calls from coworkers. We end up playing phone tag all day long because they can’t receive them either. Sometimes the call doesn’t even register on the call log and the only way I know they’ve even called is I get an email with a voicemail message attached in my outlook inbox. Most of the time I end up having to call from my personal number to their personal phone number.

Doesn't stay connected

This latest update is horrible. The app does not stay connected as it has in the past. Please fix!

Can’t connect

When I’m able to connect, the app will consistently disconnect if the app is not in the foreground. This needs to be fixed asap.

STILL BROKEN Disconnects constantly

Update 8/5/22 - Waited 3 months for an update that still leaves this app useless and broken. No fix. This is ridiculous. The latest version of the app is broken. It disconnects anytime the app is not in the foreground. If you switch apps, it disconnects. Screen turns off, disconnects. Many missed calls and messages. Pleas fix ASAP.

Seriously needs a major update

The app is working sed by my company to remote access our office lines. The app crashes regularly when downloaded on a desktop/laptop, making it unusable to monitor calls that come in while working on projects. On my mobile devise the app is slightly better, although it does disconnect regularly from either voicemail, messages or all together drops the service connection. The app does not keep phone on while reviewing messages so when my iPhone turns off the screen, voicemail also closes and you have to repeat the message (if it doesn’t loose it’s connection to company servers). Sadly, we have to use the app while remote working from home but it is a shame that Cisco can’t provide a major update to the app to resolve these issues. The last time it updated was months ago. Very disappointed.

Connection Problems

The app was great when it worked properly. Now it will not run in the background and loses connectivity as soon as your screen locks or you close out of the app.
